Using Interns to help enable International Student success in health and well being

1Deakin Univeristy, Geelong, Australia;

Deakin University’s International Student Support Team has been working actively toward including students alongside decision making, particularly around student engagement on campus and international student health and wellbeing.

Student success and wellbeing is at the forefront of our service delivery and we aim to provide the best care possible in a variety of ways. We aim to have the delivery of the projects led and informed by students, working alongside staff where possible. The broader project goal aim to disseminate information regarding mental health, physical health, life skill, etc. in order to provide students with an opportunity to connect and thrive.

By engaging students as interns, we will be developing student connections and investment early, getting real feedback from what students want, not what we think they need, and be able to deliver relevant information.
