This presentation will report on the 4 week Healthy Relationship series conducted at the University of Queensland and discuss what worked, what needs improvements and provide ideas into how similar programs can be applied at different universities.Healthy relationships, whether they be romantic, family or friends, are key to students having a successful and fulfilling experience at University. Such relationships help students acquire the resilience required for tertiary study. They also equip students with the skills needed to maintain their professional and family lives and decrease the risk of sexual violence in a relationship (Khalifian, Murphy, Barry & Herman, 2016). With this in mind, the Healthy Relationships Series was developed at The University of Queensland. This series aims to provide young adults with the tools needed to establish and navigate healthy relationships. The 4-week program explores respect, successful communication, the language of love and conflict resolution. The series is based on principles of collaboration and inclusion; with its small-group setting, the program fosters active participation and interaction amongst students and staff. The sessions encourage students to develop insight and skills related to the establishment and maintenance of healthy relationships.
