Awards of Excellence
The ISANA Awards celebrate the individuals and institutions who are making an outstanding difference in the lives of international students. Presented at the conference gala dinner on 8 September 2026.

ISANA Outstanding Practitioner Award
Recognises an individual who has demonstrated excellence in professional practice and made an outstanding contribution to supporting international students through their work.

Innovation in International Education Award
Recognises innovative initiatives, programs, technologies or practices that have transformed international education and improved student outcomes.

ISANA Research and Evidence AwardISANA Research and Evidence Award
Recognises outstanding research, evaluation or evidence-informed practice that advances international education and improves outcomes for international students.

ISANA Vision and Leadership Award
Recognises an individual who has demonstrated visionary leadership, inspired positive change and made a significant contribution to the advancement of international education.

ISANA Partnership Excellence Award
Recognises outstanding collaborations between organisations that have delivered measurable benefits for international students, institutions or the international education sector.

ISANA Student Experience, Access and Inclusion Award
Recognises initiatives that improve international student success through excellence in student experience, equity, inclusion, belonging, wellbeing and participation.

ISANA Excellence in Global Citizenship and Community Engagement Award
Recognises initiatives that strengthen connections between international students and local communities while promoting intercultural understanding, community engagement and global citizenship.

ISANA Distinguished Service Award
Recognises an individual whose sustained leadership and exceptional contribution have significantly advanced international education and the international student community over an extended period.
Award Criteria
All nominees must meet general eligibility requirements and award-specific criteria.
General Eligibility
Current financial ISANA member at time of nomination
Demonstrated significant impact on international student outcomes
Evidence of sustained contribution to the international education sector
Support from a referee who can speak to the nominee's contributions
Outstanding Practitioner Award
Minimum 3 years working in international education
Evidence of exceptional professional practice
Demonstrated improvement in student outcomes
Innovative approaches to student support
Innovation in International Education Award
Creative, evidence-based innovation implemented
Clear, measurable impact on student experience
Scalable or transferable model
Documentation of outcomes and learnings
Emerging Researcher Award
Early-career researcher (within 10 years of first research degree)
Significant contribution to international education research
Published work or evidence of research impact
Potential for future research leadership
