A global education – the Australian point of difference

As we look to rebuild Australia’s international education sector in a post-COVID world, it is time for the sector to focus on offering students a ‘global’ education.
Most international students leave Australia after they finish their studies. At the same time, economically developing countries are strengthening their own educational offerings and frequently involving local employers in the design of new systems to help ensure local education systems produce more job ready local graduates. Collectively that means the value of an Australian education is likely to lessen unless we think more about what our students have to offer when they return home or move to a third country.
Australia should be aiming for a new point of difference in international education: helping both our domestic and international students be ‘globally employable’. In this presentation, Claire looks at emerging global trends and identifies a range of strategies providers need to consider to help ‘future proof’ their graduates for a changing world of work
